EPA announced today that he Otoe-Missouria Tribe in Red Rock, Oklahoma, will receive an Environmental Justice Grant allowing the group to develop a training program to address drinking water and air quality issues that affect the tribe.

From the announcement:
"This project will develop a training program to address drinking water and air quality issues that compromise the health and welfare of members within the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Community. The Community’s close proximity to a gas and electric coal powered plant directly impacts the Red Rock and Otoe-Missouria water systems which supply drinking water to residents. The tools and resources provided during training will enable citizens to better understand environmental regulations, empower them to make informed decisions and have greater access to regulatory and enforcement agencies when reporting violations."
