April 16 Transit Plan Public Meeting at OKC City Council
The Nelson Nygaard transit study recommendations will be presented at the end of the City Council meeting on April 16. The City Council meets each Tuesday at 8:30 am at City Hall, 200 N Walker. The Nelson Nygaard presentation is at a joint public meeting of the Mayor, Oklahoma City City Council, and the board of the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COPTA). The Nelson Nygaard study will be presented as recommendations to three basic concerns:
- What transit routes and frequency should be adopted in 2013, even if no new funding is available;
- What small growth steps should be pursued if there’s a little more funding for operating bus service; and
- A critique of the 2030 Fixed Guideway plan’s “Enhanced Bus” component.
