LOCAL EVENTS
Green Drinks Stillwater starts at 5:30 p.m. monthly and takes place at two locations (come and go; no-host):
The Hideaway, 230 S. Knoblock St. on the first Monday of each odd month: 1/5, 3/2, 5/4, 7/6, 9/14 and 11/12 in 2009.
Space is reserved for us in the "Slice Side" coffee shop-like area in the north section of the restaurant.
Zanotti's Wine Bar, 113 W. 7th Ave on the first Friday of each even month: 2/6, 4/3, 6/5, 8/7, 10/2, 12/4 in 2009.
21 and over and you can order appetizers with your drinks.
Green Drinks, an international phenomenon, is a regular gathering of people who work, volunteer or just have an interest in an environmental field or sustainable development. Typically, it's a lively mix of people from NGOs, academia, government and business who meet for a beer after work. The idea is you come and say, "are you green?" and you'll be looked after and introduced to whoever is there.
It's a great way of catching up with people you know and making new contacts. Green Drinks is an organic, self-organizing network that is very simple and unstructured, but many people have made friends, found employment, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.
