Oklahoma Kids in Environmental Education, Inc. (OKIEE) - Non-profit Organization www.edisonthebus.org
OKIEE is a non-profit corporation that provides mobile environmental education programs to targeted schools, parks andday care facilities in primarily underserved or unserved Oklahoma communities. Because many school districts in our state have strict limits on field trips and transportation of children, the OKIEE programs bring an environmental "fieldtrip" to the children using a mobile unit equipped with tools for teaching about the environment. Activities are conducted during a two day program visit covering materials in the fields of: Wildlife Conservation, Soil and Water Conservation, Solid Waste Management, Forestry, Agriculture and Energy Conservation.
Currently, "Eco-Motion" is the only project offered by OKIEE. The program serves students Kindergarten through Grade 5, Service Learners in Grade 10 through 12 plus adult community volunteers. To learn more about Eco-Motion please visit us on the Web.

Rogers University Conservation Education Reserve - School Program The Reserve, a joint project of Rogers University (formerly Rogers State College) and the Rogers County Conservation District, is 120 acres of “undeveloped wilderness” adjoining the Rogers University campus. It is a “living textbook” of the environment for school groups, college students, educators, and civic groups. OSU CES has school enrichment programs, available through your county Extension office at little or not cost. Programs include Oklahoma Aqua Times, Caring for Planet Earth, Junior Master Gardener and Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom. Look under "County Government" in your phone book. Forestry and Wildlife Camp, held each June at Beaver's Bend State Park, is open to youth ages 13-16. Youth may also join 4-H in their county and participate in 4-H wildlife, forestry, natural resources and environmental stewardship project activities under the guidance of volunteer leaders. Other opportunities for members include Wildlife Habitat Evaluation and Forestry Judging contests and county 4-H camp.

Project WILD - Government Agency Project WILD is an interdisciplinary wildlife education program designed for educators of kindergarten through high school aged young people. Project WILD teaches about wildlife and habitat while developing awareness, knowledge, skills and responsible actions concerning wildlife and the environment.
Two activity guides are available, an aquatic guide and a terrestrial guide. Each activity guide contains a variety of hands-on activities that are supplemental to the educator’s curricula. A six-hour workshop is required to receive the activity guides.
Workshops are recognized for professional development credit. The cost is $10 per participant. A current schedule of workshops can be found on the website.

The program’s main thrust and purpose is to educate Oklahoma’s school children (K through 12) about the environment and, in particular, soil and water conservation practices. The program is designed primarily to train teachers rather than instructing students directly; however, some direct training of students is conducted using the network of 88 conservation districts across the state. Conservation Districts are the local contact for educators. Each district can provide technical assistance and some will provide additional educational materials. OKIEE is a non-profit corporation that provides mobile environmental education programs to targeted schools, parks andday care facilities in primarily underserved or unserved Oklahoma communities. Because many school districts in our state have strict limits on field trips and transportation of children, the OKIEE programs bring an environmental "fieldtrip" to the children using a mobile unit equipped with tools for teaching about the environment. Activities are conducted during a two day program visit covering materials in the fields of: Wildlife Conservation, Soil and Water Conservation, Solid Waste Management, Forestry, Agriculture and Energy Conservation.

Rogers University Conservation Education Reserve - School Program The Reserve, a joint project of Rogers University (formerly Rogers State College) and the Rogers County Conservation District, is 120 acres of “undeveloped wilderness” adjoining the Rogers University campus. Project WILD - Government Agency Project WILD is an interdisciplinary wildlife education program designed for educators of kindergarten through high school aged young people. Project WILD teaches about wildlife and habitat while developing awareness, knowledge, skills and responsible actions concerning wildlife and the environment.
Two activity guides are available, an aquatic guide and a terrestrial guide. Each activity guide contains a variety of hands-on activities that are supplemental to the educator’s curricula. A six-hour workshop is required to receive the activity guides.

Long Term Ecological Research: Teacher's Manual of High School - School Program www.dnr.cornell.edu/ext/LTER/lter.asp
The activities in the Manual introduce high school students to the National Science Foundation's Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) program and the research conducted at LTER sites. The activities are designed to teach ecological principles and inquiry skills, and to make students aware of the value of long-term research as a basis for conservation management and regional planning decisions. It is part of the Oklahoma State University Math and Science Technology Education Research Consortium located in the College of Education.
